A feed supplement. Guaranteed composition: dry matter 98%, calcium at least 36%, phosphorus 0.03%, iron 510 mg/kg. It serves to make up calcium deficiency.

Recommended use of lime grit: according to how much lime the age of the animals, their purpose and the quality of the feed make necessary.

Withdrawal period: 0 days

Storage: in a dry, cool place, separated from toxic and strong-smelling substances.

Shelf life: unlimited when stored as indicated.

Packaging: in 5/1 kg units, in 25/1 kg and 50/1 kg sacks, and in Big-Bags.

Do you need lime grit?

It is not only the human body that needs its minerals replaced — animals do too. Lime grit serves feeding purposes when animals are short of lime. This crushed soft limestone is a feed supplement used to supply calcium to cattle, pigs and poultry.

Calcium is the building material of bone, and a shortage of it can lead to serious conditions such as osteoporosis and weak eggshells. Dosing lime grit replaces the calcium animals lose, and it also contains phosphorus and iron. Adding lime grit to feed is not always strictly necessary, since the need depends on many factors, but it is worth supplying it to farm animals at least periodically so they can stay healthy.

The lime grit we offer is entirely natural and contains no added substances. Its raw material is young, porous soft limestone, which meets gastric acid over a considerably larger surface area than feed lime ground from dense, hard limestone. The coarser 1.2–5 mm grain also stays behind in the gizzard, so it remains an available source of calcium for laying flocks during shell formation.
